Hello Crafty Friends! Jana Eubank here! Halloween is my favorite holiday. And it’s also my favorite holiday to get crafty for!
This year I plan on revamping my entryway table with new decorations and this Haunted Birdcage, created with the Haunted collection, will be front and center!
I found the crows and glittery bats at the dollar store and the idea for this project was born!
First, I cut the birdcage shape out using my Silhouette Cameo machine and the Carta Bella Ebony Black Felt Designer Cardstock. The top of the birdcage is cut from Very Scary paper. Next, I cut strips of the striped Very Scary paper to accent the cross bars of the birdcage.
I wanted the birdcage to have a bit more height, so I cut a flat square box to go underneath it. I decorated the sides of box with more Very Scary Paper.
On the floor of the birdcage, I cut a square of the orange dot Haunted Words Paper. This helps the crow to stand out a bit. I also decorated the back of the cage with this panel.
Now it’s time to decorate the outside of the birdcage! On the front I created a cluster of elements using designs from the 3×4 Journaling Cards paper. I also added pumpkins made with the Outlined Pumpkins Die Set. I wanted my pumpkins to be solid, so I adhered them to another sheet of orange cardstock and then carefully cut around them by hand.
The flowers were cut from the orange dot Haunted Words Paper, using my Silhouette Cameo. I also added leaves and vines, cut using the Fall Branch Die Set, from the ebony felt cardstock and the Haunted Labels paper.
I added a few glittery bats from the dollar store for even more spookiness!
I had so much fun making this project! I’m actually thinking of creating another one to go with it! Give it a try, it’s the perfect Halloween Home Decor project!
